RARE DISEASE DAY IS FINALLY HERE!!

For he first time in Kenya we are celebrating the #rarediseaseday We have bumper stickers available to hep spread the word and create awareness and they have been customized to have the Kenyan feel and ribbons which were sent from the Global genes organisation. RARE DISEASE DAY KENYA 2014 28th February

It is finally here! For the first time in Kenya rare diseases and conditions will be commemorated. The good Lord works in amazing ways,this is why am saying this, about a month ago, I saw a post about #rarediseases by Christine Mutena @ cmutena on the Stepping Stones page and I immediately got interested in joining her in this cause, and the curiosity paid off for both of us yesterday 19/02/2014 when we were invited on  the morning show #MorningExpress of one of the main media houses in our coutyr and that marked the beginning of a rigorous campaign as we await the D-Day.  Here's how it went.   http://www. standardmedia.co.ke/ktn/video/watc h/2000075253/faith-njahira-and-christine-mutena-talk-about-rare-disease-day-on-morning-express   … … … We will keep you informed of further plans as we get confirmation about a few details. TO FELLOWSHIP OR NOT

Happy Sunday people? How was church today? Are you back from church already? I didn't see you, which service did you attend? Which priest presided over mass today? Was there a guest pastor at the church? All the above are questions that have probably come up in our conversations today. Which is great, there is nothing that we can do without God's intervention and presence in our lives. Let us think about accessibility. How many of our churches and places of worship are easy for a person with a special need to get in and out of? Is there a ramp( that sloping bit at the door) at the main entrance for those on wheel chair and with mobility problems? Are the walk ways wide enough to allow a person on a wheelchair, with muscular dystrophy or with crutches to follow the service from any part of the church? Is there a sign language interpreter to enable our brothers and sisters with hearing impairment to fellowship with us? Do we preach in the national languages( English, Kiswa
